Bowl are ment for food not fish, unless you canfind a 5 gallon bowl that can support a filter andheater......Bettas really should be kept infiltered, heater tanks of at least 2 gallons, anything smaller is just mean.

Answer #2
Definately not. Spend a little extra, get a 10gallon setup (or a 5) and get one betta. For 8dollars... you can get a 10 gallon tank for lessthan 10, a filter online for like 12 dollars, anda heater for about 10, that's all you'd need.Your betta will be prettier, much happier, and itwill have a greater chance to survive. With a 1/2gallon bowl, youl'l have to change the water dailyor the fish will die. Try to find a used fish tankon craigslist. I regularly see cheap, good oneslisted there.Although bettas are often kept insmall bowls, in no way is it humane or safe forthe betta. People will say "bettas prefer to livein small areas". They think this because in thewild, they live in rice paddies which are shallow(but huge). In reality, although they ae shallow, they are huge (like I said) so there is good"natural filtration". In a bowl, this is notpossible.

Answer #3
Please do not get this. The "bowl" is barely aLitre in size, and once you add in the plant andthe gravel, it's much less than one litre, whichis not by any means enough for a betta fish. Itwon't be enough room for him to swim and behealthy, and it also means the bowl is too smallto be heated - and bettas like their water at 80F. And lastly, there is no top to this, and bettasare known to jump out of their tank.Instead, tryto find a small tank (like 3-5 gallons) with asmaller filter and heater for each of your bettas. They will be much happier that way.

if you are getting 2 bettas here is a great idea-- get a standard 5 1/2 gallon tank and divide it(they sell them at petsmart where i live). youcan make a divider out of plastic canvas fromwalmart or a craft store and cut a slit in plasticaquarium tubing and run it down the sides. you canmake a cover out of the canvas too. when you haveextra money add big silk aquarium plants that areas big as will fit -- bettas like having leaves ontop to anchor bubble nests and like to rest onleaves too. then you can buy them a lid with alight -- i like lighting up my bettas -- you cansee them much better in a tank with a light.
