I just got a job at Macys...they haven't explained the employee discount to me yet, so I need toknow. They pay practically nothing (this is by farthe lowest I've been paid in my life), and if thediscount isn't good I might not go to training. DoI need to use my Macys credit card? Whatdepartments don't get discounts? Can I use thediscount at sister stores?I've previously readthat you need to have the credit card to get thediscount. I know it's 20% but it doesn't includeall departments. If Coach and Movado aren'tincluded, I'm out of there.

A Coach bag, or a Juicy Couture or a Kate Spadehandbag are EXACTLY the same if you buy them froma boutique or a department store. Personally Ilike to buy them from the place where I can getthem for the least amount of money.Because ofthis, I buy nearly all my handbags from eBay. Ihave very expensive tastes, but a not so expensivebudget so I can get very high end bags on eBay forless money. My last purchase was a $695 IsabellaFiore handbag that I paid $219 for! I received a food processor/blender for mybirthday 5 months ago and I noticed that when Iuse it, which is seldom, it has a very sharp loudnoise. Read items withspecial guidelines for information aboutrestrictions on store returns, as well as otherrestrictions."Food processors don't count as"items with special guidelines" and their policymakes no mention of original packaging. If theitem is defective, at this point, chances are theywould refer you to the manufacturer.If the itemworks well but is obviously used they might nottake it back on that account. Macy's like other dept. stores usually starts outnew cardholders with low credit lines of $2-300.If you have great credit, meaning you already have1-2 installment accounts and 3-6 revolvingaccounts, then why would you need another creditcard?The only advantage a Macy's card would offeryou is the discounts they offer if you charge itto your Macy's card, otherwise a Visa orMasterCard is a better choice.Good Luck - answered by: Credit Guru

I wouldn't take offense by that statement. I'vebeen told that Coach makes specific styles for theboutiques, outlets and departments stores. Thevendor just recognized that your bag was made fordepartment store sale. Coach makes quality bagsregardless of where they are sold. - answered by: eve
