Question: #2: Why is costco, trader joe's,1-800 flowers, and large corporations trying to overshadow flowershops?
I don't understand why large corporations takeadvantage of small businesses, all those online"florists" like pro-flowers, blooms.net and 1-800flowers, rip people off.I ordered a largearrangement from 1-800 flowers and I didn't getthe best quality in flowers, I would rather orderfrom a local flower shop now, especiall y thosethat are family owned.they give you the bestservice and products it was worthe the money, pricey, but worth every penny. I still don'tunderstand why some people are still dumb enoughto support those large corporations that have noknowledge or passion like a REAL flower shop does.Is it because small flower shops don't have enoughmoney to advertise like large corporations do?

Question: #4: Has anyone used those online florists before? Like 1-800 Flowers?
I just wanted to know how the flowers theydelivered turned out...? I'm thinking about usingone of those sites to send my mom some flowersfor her bday... What site is best?
- asked by Anders
I've used a couple, but I think it is better tocall a local florist. The prices are ushually alittle better and the owner of the shop gets tokeep more of the profits. It takes a bit more legwork on your part but you get a better arrangementand a small business owner instead of a largefaceless corporation gets the money. - answered by: Ben View All Answers (8)

I have recieved many bouquets from1-800-Flowers.com. I feel that first and foremost, they are incredibly over priced. Second, theyaren't always the best quality, when I had themshow up at my house, it wasn't a 1-800-Flowerstruck, it was just some local flower shop. Youwould be much better off giving the flowers to theperson yourself, if that's not a possibilitybecause you can't get to the area, etc. I suggestyou see what other flower shops in the person'sarea can offer. - answered by: <3 View All Answers (4)
