They will ask all the questions they need to know. There are really two standards of cover. Don'tpick and change. Either go for the standard ortrade up to the accidental damage. The easiest wayto save money (in the UK) is to put the buildingsand contents with the one insurer. They givediscounts. When you get a price go to yourexisting insurers and tell them that you find themexpensive. Let them see what you have and see ifthey match it. In many cases they will. They canalso give additional discounts for higher excessesetc. Try 'em ... you will be surprised. if theydon't agree you just move to the cheaper quote youhave. And ALWAYS go with a company that is amember of the Association of British Insurers asthey will have similar policy terms.xxFJ

vic,Comparing insurers is the way to go to get thebest deal. Try going to
http://www.best-online-insurance.co.uk/home-insurance.htmlThey have a number of insurers listed sideby side so you can shoose the one that gives youthe best deal. There is also a page that explainsthings you can do to get cheaper house insurance. Compare insurance comapnies once a year to makesure you are continually getting the best price. A few hours on the net is worth quite a bit ofcash saved.Good luckNigel.

Personally speaking I would go to an insurancebroker and ask them to find a policy! They areinsurance professionals have to be trained ininsurance and havea range of policies and canselect the one most appropriate to your needs.Farbetter to tell someone what you want and let themprovide it rather than spend hours going throughwebsites not knowing what cover is available andprobably not understanding terms and conditionsthat are imposed. We who acts as his own insurancebroker has a fool for a client.
