Question : How do you start up your own .com insurance company using Lloyd's of London underwriters.?
I am looking for contact names within lloyds to float an idea and then get venture capital to launch. It sounds very grandiose but i feel sure its a good sound idea with a niche market.

You will need to contact a managing agent whomanages the underwriting for one or moresyndicates, or you can apply to become a Lloyd'sbroker. The rather sizable application can befoundhere:

write a solid business proposal and approach them.It depends on the value you can add tothem.Insurer and VC want 2 things from ua) Numbers(revenue)b) Regulation related matters (Frommonetary authority, privacy, security ....)Istarted one in Malaysia. There are many in UK &US, the issue is how are u going to differentiateyour self from the rest?

The only way to access Lloyd's Underwriters is byusing a London broker. It's actually quitecomplicated depending on whether or not you weregoing to produce the documentation, eg. If it's USbusiness there are lots of different rulesregarding taxes etc. What type of business are youtalking about?
