I would strongly back Geico as a broker, aninsured and a person that has much confidence inWarren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway empire whichowns them. Question: #6: How much is a Geico car insurance for a minor ?
I am 17 years old and I am just wondering how muchI will have to pay for my car insurance. My momhas Geico, and I am sure that will be the one Iwill have, too. Help! - asked by Victoria Z

Well you and your vehicle (if you have your own)need to go on your mom's policy. It really dependson your mom as to how much you'll be paying. Geicois considered high risk which means either yourmom has lousy credit, or she has a not so gooddriving record. Just have your mom call Geico andhave them tell her how much it would cost to addyou to her policy. Simple as that. - answered by: ♥ Embracing Optical Freedom ♥

Question: #7: How can I cancel my geico car insurance?
I pay for my geico car insurance every six monthsbecause I save some money instead of payingmonthly. Here is a thing I am going to out of USfor 3 months and I do not need insure my carhowever I already paid for the 6 months. Can Icancel my car insurance and get the rest of moneyback?Do they have any freezing method for thesesituations? If I cancel my car insurance, will theycharge me some money? How do they calculatethis?Need specific answer, Thanks. - asked by Eric

Yes you can cancel your policy, by notifying themin writing. You do NOT get all the money back -there's a short rate cancellation charge, AND acancellation fee when allowed by the state. Theshort rate is about a month's premium. Thecancellation fee varies by state, but is typically$50. Also, if you have 3 months with no insurance, you'll be considered high risk when you get back, and you'll pay A LOT more for your car insurancethen. I'd say, talk to your agent, but you AREyour own agent with Geico, and they're not goingto help you out. But if you have a LOAN on yourcar, your lender will have a fit if you cancel, and penalize you heavily - and might repo the car. And if you don't, you're probably better offdropping all but the bare minimum coverages, tokeep the policy active. - answered by: mbrcatz17

Question: #8: Geico insurance? Is it worthwhile, or just acheesy commercial?
Hey,Wondering what people think of Geicoinsurance. I am contemplating using it for myhome and auto and want to know of other people'sexperience with them.I prefer to know from peoplewho have made a claim of some sort, so they havemore experience than just calling up and orderinginsurance and paying their bill -- I need peoplewho have actually had experience with thiscompany.Thank you for you input! - asked by animal lover

Now I think my friend had Geico or Safe auto, Ican't remember which one it was ... but ...I canonly speak on what happen to a friend of mine ...he was in a car accident and he had Geico or Safeauto at the time, will you believe they paid totake care of his car and since the other peopledidn't have insurance and my friend wasn't atfault, they didn't cover the other peoples car,but his next month bill was 3 times more than whathis normal monthly bill was, and he asked "whatthe heck, tell me why, you can't do that", they*Geico or Safe auto* said "because his car was Xamount of dollars for the repairs and he only hadto pay 250.00, they're going to get their moneyback from him one way or another" OMG I was on thephone and almost passed out when I heard them saythat to him ... so needless to say, he droppedtheir butts real quick and went to Progressive.Ihonestly can't remember if it was safe auto orgeico, it was one of the two - answered by: DrkChocolatePrincess

Question: #10: Will GEICO raise insurance fees even after someonegoes to traffic school?
I just spoke with a lady working at a drivingschool about taking classes for reducing thepoints for traffic violation. She told me that notall insurance companies will be generous enough tonot raise your insurance fees even if someonetakes safety classes and gets his pointscompletely reduced. Does anyone know GEICO'spolicy about this? Will GEICO raise insurance feeseven if someone goes to traffic school and getshis points completely reduced? - asked by recalcitrant99

Most stats have laws stating that a carrire is notallowed to increase rates when the driver isallowed to take classes addressing points ona DL.However (!), GEICO may still increase the ratesnot knowing that you took the class. You wouldthen need to show GEICO proof that you completedthe class. This mix up happens often as it takesawhile for the state to acknowledge that a classwas completed and in the meantime, your policy maybe reviewed for renewal.Note: GEICO should sendout a note a month or so before the policy renews. If you see that they increased the ratesincorrectly, simple call them immediatly so thatthey can look into the matter prior to the policyrenewal date. - answered by: Todd C
