The South Beach diet distinguishes between good and bad carbohydrates, and good and bad fats. The diet does not require counting calories or limiting servings. Dr. Agatston developed this diet and suggests you eat until you are satisfied. Dieters are told to eat 6 meals a day: breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with small snacks between each meal.

Answer #2 South Beach diet is focused on the intake of "goodcarbs" and "good fats" according to the inventorof it Dr. Arthur Agatston. Dr. Agatston believesthat excess consumption of so-called "badcarbohydrates", such as the rapidly-absorbedcarbohydrates found in foods with a high glycemicindex, creates an insulin resistance syndrome—animpairment of the hormone insulin's ability toproperly process fat or sugar. For a breakfast youcan eat some oatmeal with low fat milk andraisins. Oatmeal has a low glycemic index, meaningthat is a good carb, besides it has a high contentof soluble fiber, which is good for lowering bad(LDL) colesterol levels from the blood and so,good your your heart. Raisins have tons ofantioxidants, and those can slow the agingprocess, and milk will be your protein source. Ifyou're intolerant to lactose try soy milk.
