Question : HAVE YOU BOUGHT from bluenile.com? Why do retailers sell DIAMONDS for less than the appraisal price?
I received a diamond ring from my bf and it cost about $440 canadian dollars/$390 USD, but the appraisal made by a gemologist at blue nile set the ring's value at $650 USD.Why would they sell it to me for $390USD when they appraised it for $650 USD?Secondly, has anyone purchased from bluenile.com, I was just wondering how your experience was with them.

All Answers: Answer #1You can almost always find diamonds for less than what they are appraised for. The true value ofthe diamond is not always what they're sold for. It's kind of like going to a car dealership andgetting a $15,000 car for $14,000. They're stillmaking money off of you, but the original value ofthe car was $15,000.As for Blue Nile, they're anexcellent choice. I run a free diamond searchservice (see the link in the source box below) andBlue Nile is often at the top. In fact, I boughtmy own wife's engagement ring there. - answered by brian1572000
