Question: #2: Is the Memory Foam offered in mattresses on overstock.com the same as Tempurpedic or is itjust a cheaper copy
Has someone else copied the Tempurpedic processand is selling it at a cheaper price? Or hasoverstock.com acquired surplus Tempurpedicproducts and has to leave off the Tempurpedic namewhen they sell them.
- asked by James K
it's not Tempurpedic. The memory foam, calledviscoelastic, is patented in the Tempurpedicformulation. Other memory foams containviscoelastic, but can't duplicate Tempurpedic'sformula. - answered by: tonalc1 View All Answers (1)

What did you order?I used to buy from there lotsof bedding related itemslike sheet sets...theprices were not bad...but they seemto be secondquality to me.The shipping is quick andinexpensive, which I like. The items...all arrivedin good shape except two sets whichhad threadhanging off every side and all over the innerpackage. Most ended up lasting a fairly shortamount of time compared to sheets boughtelsewhere.I asked live help if their items wereseconds since I saw lots of other comments intheir customer feedback that mirrored my owncomplaints...they denied it.I just don't buybedding from them anymore. - answered by: S.Noone View All Answers (2)

Overstock.com has partnerships with many leadingbrand-name companies. Because of theserelationships, we are able to buy products atsignificant discounts, which then allow us to passthese incredible savings on to you. Here are a fewexamples of how we do this:OverproducedProductsEach year manufacturers estimate how manyproducts they will sell. Many times theyoverestimate and produce too many products. Themanufacturer is forced to liquidate these excessproducts. We purchase these products atbelow-wholesale costs and then pass the savings onto you.Cancelled OrdersStore managers frequentlychange the products they sell in their stores. Asa result, they often cancel orders they have withmanufacturers. The manufacturers are forced toliquidate these excess products. We purchase theseproducts at below-wholesale costs and then passthe savings on to you.Company-Specific IssuesAcompany may be downsizing, moving facilities, orjust need to reduce its inventory for any numberof reasons. The company is willing to sell theproducts for less than it normally would (oftenbelow its cost) to get rid of the productsquickly. We purchase these products and pass thesavings on to you. Therefore, there is no way ofKnowing, where the quilt you loved came fromoriginally, and in most likihood is no longerbeing made- if you type into search on yahoo, forexample, you get many hits on the words BascombHandcrafter Quilt, and you may just be luckyenough, if you perserver- to find the one youseek. Best Wishes. - answered by: onesmaartlady View All Answers (5)
