All Answers: Answer #1I would say try out some different sizes because it depends on the saddle too - but I would give a16in a shot and see how it fits. Even a 15 and ahalf? Try out different saddles though :)HappyRiding !!!As for a good quality but lower pricedsaddle, leather Id definatley give the collegiatesa shot, I loved them. Very comfy and seemed to beeasy fits. But in the lower thousands try out anHDR Advantage also, nice saddle.I have to saythough, Iam quite biased on the Pessoa's andAmerigo's. I own a Pessoa and I LOVE it.Go for amedium tree - but deifnatley take the time to fitit properly but I would bet on medium should dojust fine.Good Luck !!!! :)Fang-Tastic - I wouldLOVE to know where you bought your Stuben...Ivenever EVER seen a new one under $3000.00 - andIam a Stuben fan...!!!!! - answered by Dallas
Answer #2 You really shoulg get your horse traced by asaddle company ( have measurements taken). Try tomake sure that it fits your horse before you startmaking it fit you. I am only an English rider so ihonestly don't know Western sizing. For a cheapersadle I would sugest a Wintec or Collegiate. Ifyou want a more higher level saddle that is worthits price go with the Pessoa's. This also dependson what type of English riding you plan on doing.(Eventing, Dressage, Eventing, or Hunter)Well hopethis helps. - answered by Horse Lover
Answer #3 I ride both english and western, and I use a 18"English saddle and an 16" western, so I'd go witha 16" English if I were you and see if thatworks. The best way to find out what size gulletyou will need is to have a saddler or your trainercome out and measure your horse.I personally likemy Stubben saddle, but they are a bit on theexpensive side(about $600- $800 new), but a verygood brand. A Gatsby is also pretty good, but alittle less expensive. Before you buy the saddleask to try it out for a few days or even a week. That way you can find out if it will work for youand the horse. If it doesn't you can always giveit back and try another.Remeber, the horses fitalways should come before yours. Good luck andhappy saddle hunting! - answered by .X.fang-tastic.X.
Answer #4 16 or 15.5 - answered by just a teen w/ questions
Answer #5 probably about a 16", but they're all different soi wouldn't suggest ruling one out just because ofa half-inch or so. It's more important that itfits the horse correctly. - answered by goldentaters
Answer #6 I'd say a 16". That way if you get a littlebigger it will still fit you. Also, below 16"they are kid's saddles with shorter flaps that mayor may not be too short for you at 5'1".I've neverseen one in person, but the Dover brand saddles inthe Dover catalog look pretty nice and are cheap. They also have a "test ride" program for many oftheir saddles (all brands) where you can try themout for a week. Also the Collegiate (which is oneof the test ride saddles, too).I have a 24 yearold Crosby Mark VII which I like a lot and has fitlots of different horses, but new Crosbys are wayover $1000 now. - answered by Driver
